- How long have you been planning weddings? I have been planning weddings since 2004.
- What are some popular wedding trends to expect in 2021 that you are seeing nowadays? One of the most popular wedding trends I’m seeing in is, while there are some couples that still love a ballroom space for their wedding; many couples are opting to host their weddings at unique venues. Nowadays, it’s all about creating an experience that the couple and their guests will enjoy.
- Decor? Elegance and enchanting are definitely the decor trends. There is also a use of more neutral color palettes with bold or metallic accents. Some couples are incorporating luxurious and simple but chic decor in their ceremonies. So, they are leaving the wow factor for the reception. The overall look typically includes beautiful table scapes. Coordinating china and chairs almost too pretty to sit in are included . Other couples are going for an enchanting feel with lots of lush and cascading greenery combined with white or ambient lights to create a midnight in the garden experience. Beautiful welcome signs, creative seating charts and menu cards are some of the couples’ must haves.
- Entertainment? Another popular trend is couples are investing more in their wedding entertainment. Live musicians are becoming more common at weddings. Even if they are playing for the ceremony, cocktail hour or a band for the reception. belly dancers and performances during the dinner portion of the reception, photo booths, caricature artists and live painters are popular as well
- Themes? The focus is not so much themes, but an overall feel. Today’s couple want their guests to walk away saying their wedding made me feel ……
- Catering? Caterers are getting more requests for customized menus with cultural foods, comfort foods or some of the couples’ favorite foods. Some other popular trends are action stations, doughnut and dessert bars and late night snacks (ex.mini burger and fries, tomato soup shooter with a mini grilled cheese sandwich, pizza, tacos) for those who have extended receptions or after parties.
- Everything from Etc.? Extravagant exits have been popular the last few years; now, it’s all about the reception entrance. The Sparkular effects (fireworks cold spark fountain), dancing on the cloud effect and confetti drops are popular trends, as well as welcome signs and creative seating charts.
- Are there any requests that you get often from couples nowadays about changing up the ceremony to differ from tradition? Both parents walking the bride down the aisle, no specified bride or groom side for seating, I’ve had couples give their guests a welcome cocktail in lieu of a wedding program
- Anything else you’d like to add? When asked what are popular wedding trends for 2021. I say, have your wedding your way! Be sure to include the things that are important to you. Your style and personalities should be considered in your vision. Most importantly, make it enjoyable.
